  bream fishing
The Sea Bream is among the 120 species that make up the Sparidae family, mainly found in temperate and tropical waters worldwide. Favourite baits are still small sandeels and mackerel fillets. Best baits recently have been pellet, maggot, worms, casters and corn. Not for the seroius specimen hunter in my opinion but good for a few runs. This lake is divided into two by a short stretch of river. At Bowering's end, there is a bream shoal in the open bay, with good tench, carp, perch and pike. The stocks are mostly carp, roach, rudd and tench, but there are also a variety of others to be had. The first pond you approach from the road is primarily a Tench Pond with a few skimmer Bream. It was the only area of the 20-by-20-yard cove without the dimpled bottom.

Upon returning to the Lodge you may refresh in the privacy of your room while your Charter Guide cleans and packs your catch for you. It is mainly rock, although Hope's Nose has a sandy bottom. This lake responds well to all techniques including Carp, float and feeder angling. Strange thing this season is that the pike and zander arein very short supply for some reason. Brill particularly seem tobe in good numbers on both sides of the island. The Novice pool has produced some lovely Carp and Roach to local juniors anglers. No matter how low the temperature drops the chub will continue to feed and on more than one occasion I have continued to catch steadily with the river partially frozen. Crickets and worms are a favorite bait.

Overall the session was a bit of a failure, but I did enjoy the surroundings. Shilla Mill Lakes 4 lakes, 6m west of Looe on B3359. This will place the hook over the groundbait. They all drew the noted flyers on a day when a lot struggled. The video has been added to your playlist. Still, it is a good destination for catching bluegills. I chose a 9 oz lead, which appeared about right to get my tackle down to the bottom in almost 360 feet of water on my 20 lb braid.

A tremendous season that saw both the pike and bream recordsfor the West pond being shattered. Tetford is available for either fortnightly, weekly, weekend or mid-week bookings and can accommodate up to 85 residents. Rod licenses can be obtained from a number of outlets across theBorough for each river/lake. In really cold water, when roach tench and bream occupy the lower water layers, the bait might need to be nailed to the lake bed to induce a bite. All credit to Andy hehas done his homework, put in the hard work and is now reaping the rewards.Although something tells me we haven't heard the last of Andy's West Pondexploits just yet. If the vegetation is not heavy and I can cast into it without getting tangled in it on every cast, then I will try to cast the fly into those areas. Remember, start short and cast progressively longer. OK, they don't generally fight very hard, and yes, they do smell a bit, oh, and they can be a bit slimy, but they really are awesome looking creatures. You tried to enter a area where you didn't have access.
