This was the first problemin which my countless hours of watching feeding barbel proved so invaluable.Trefor and I had noticed that, although a group of barbel often foragedover quite a wide area of riverbed, they invariably radiated from somecentral point or holding spot. The courses that took place last year were, once again, super experiences. Evenings has produced a couple of 9lb Common Carp on floating dog biscuit. Try and put the topic in the correct forum, you will get far more relevant replies this way. This species is a lover of medium to fast flowing rivers, with gravel beds. Read on inside as Phil tells us his story of how his dream has turned into reality and how it could happen to you too! Guests can also bring their partner for an additional fee. We would prefer it if you return them alive.

In the depths on the embalses, use the feeder. This is a delightful all round barbel rod to cover most of your leger and feeder work on both small and medium sized rivers. Since we had stocked the barbel as 7-9 inch long yearlings in 1988, they had rarely been seen anywhere other than in the millpools and millstream. Watching barbel in the clear watersof the southern rivers enables you to see them behaving at both ends ofthis extreme behaviour, and also to identify them as individuals, sometimesshowing themselves to be real characters. Panama proves it's certainly up there with the best! Very few anglers have studied the habits of barbel to the extent that our two presenters have.

Lavishly illustrated with 200 images including photographs, drawings and diagrams, and a colour-plate section, this is an indispensable volume for both the barbel enthusiast and general river angler alike. Barbel however are a little bit different. The scenary inland from Murcia was stunningly beautiful with mountains and trees. If the bottom is clean, smooth sand or gravel, the float tip may be shotted reasonably well down. It is not allowed to set additional rods outside the boat.

Remember, barbel tend to inhabit fast flowing water so it makes sense to choose a float that is highly visible. I must admit that this test method does not seem to be so easy to conduct in practice as it sounds in theory, so I am not sure how valid it really is, at least that's my conclusion after I did the tests when reviewing some c'pins. I will arrange your accommodation (book early), pre-bait several swims and supply you with some of my special ground bait. Usually late may to early july are typical spawning periods depending on the river and prevailing weather conditions, after upstream migration.
