During early spring and late autumn when the rivers are in full flow after a recent storm try some of the brighter flies. As your ghillie, I will take you down the River Lochay... Slow deep pools will often yield a Sea Trout by day (yes they can be caught by day!!!) and during the hours of nightfall try the tails and throat of well known pools. Another feature of the river is the number and size of sea trout during the latter end of July and August every season.

Norwegian river catch of salmon, sea trout and migratory char. A scientific study released this week suggests one possible solution to the ill effects of climate change on west coast water temperatures: more dams to trap the icy-cold water that salmon need to survive. We have accommodations available on the Northwest Miramichi, Southwest Miramichi and Little Southwest Miramichi rivers. Each beat can accommodate a varying number of "rods" (anglers). The largest of the salmon species, the Fall Chinook, will certainly get your heart pounding.
